The Operations Support primary objective is to assist the Rail Coordinator with the various tasks associated with the day-to-day operation and planning associated with Rail Operations.

 

While the key focus for this role will be Rail Scheduling, it will also provide support with associated site operational & administrative tasks including Leave Relief, as required.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Daily rail operations, including scheduling, allocating, and service updates
  • Monitor operational activities and escalate issues, delays, or disruptions as required
  • Entry of data into the various reporting and recording systems
  • Prepare and maintain operational logs, reports, and performance data
  • Collaboratively working with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Providing timely operational information and operational support
  • Problem solving
  • Providing high customer service to internal and external customers
  • Other administrative and/or operational support as required
  • Provide leave relief to staff

Your Safety Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and report all known and identified hazards and incidents in the workplace implement effective risk controls utilizing relevant process/es.
  • Participate in the monitoring, review, and evaluation of implemented risk controls.
  • Stop the task where there is imminent risk beyond the acceptable tolerance of the guidelines in the risk evaluation matric and escalate to the Operations Manager as per the escalation protocols.
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Safety Health & Environment Management System procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Identify and escalate opportunities for improvement.
  • Act within OHS requirements at all times and promote safe working practices within team
  • Meet and/ or exceed all KPI’s as outlined in the corporate schedule.
