The Specialist supports the Technical and Professional Studies (TPS) Division in organizing and coordinating division support services.   

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

REPORTS TO: Executive Dean

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR completed Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with two years of professional level experience performing similar duties to those described for this position. 
  • Two years of professional level experience managing and coordinating department or division operations.  
  • Experience with budgets and budget reporting. 

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional level experience managing and coordinating department/division operations.  
  • Microsoft Applications including Excel.  
  • Experience with inventory of supplies and purchasing supplies.   
  • Knowledge of discipline areas in the TPS division. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission.

Essential Functions  

  • Assist with managing the division/department budgets and the associated reporting. 
  • Assist with coordinating and submitting payroll documents including Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC). 
  • Assist with coordinating purchasing, procurement, and revenue. 
  • Assist with managing grant proposals, funds, and reporting. 
  • Assist with maintaining the division calendar and hosting of division events. 
  • Manage database of industry contacts via Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool. 
  • Assist administrators with the hiring and onboarding of faculty and staff. 
  • Assist administrators and faculty with the inventory of division equipment and supplies. 
  • Provide file management for division documents.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Provide the Division with the necessary coordination and division support. 
  • All other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean/Dean.
