The Quality Assurance Coordinator oversees pre-term and post-term course reviews to ensure course shells meet quality standards. This role supports learning designers, department chairs, and other stakeholders by streamlining course evaluation processes. This individual also manages and coordinates the institutional course quality initiative, including the assignment of course reviews and the compiling of review data; maintains files and records. Follows up on finished online course products, in accordance with Quality Matters (QM), QM+, and Healthy Course Checklist standards, ensuring PPSC follows best practices of online teaching. Submits requested evaluation documentation to Executive Dean of Online Learning per EP 190 for evaluation of online teaching.

The college offers the possibility for alternative work arrangements such as flexplace, remote work, or flextime scheduling upon completion of training and department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. 
  • Three years of experience in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field. 

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. 
  • Four or more years of experience in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of learning theories, effective online/blended teaching and learning practices, and instructional design models. 
  • Experience developing and delivering faculty development programs related to online course quality assurance. 
  • Quality Matters (QM) Peer Reviewer certification, Quality Matters (QM) APPQMR workshop facilitation workshop certification.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-reviews of all online course shells before the start of each term following up with Academic Divisions as needed ensuring courses are ready for students.
  • Schedules regular course review cycle that ramps up to meet institutional goals in conjunction with the Executive Dean of Online Learning.
  • Assigns course reviews each term to qualified reviewers and follows up on completion, distributing to supervisors ensuring a smooth cycle of improvement based on assessment to the benefit of all learners.
  • Implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Serves as one of the institutional Quality Matters Co-Coordinators (QMC).
  • Coordinates and delivers Quality Matters training to faculty and staff.
  • Assists Executive Dean of Online Learning with all quality assurance initiatives and related presentations to the college, and elsewhere as requested.
  • Facilitates review sessions, documents findings and writes reports as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience developing, delivering, and reviewing online courses. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders on instructional quality.
