The Healthcare Simulation Assistant will be responsible for administrative support, preparation, and implementation of simulation at the PPSC Simulation Center. This position will support the Simulation Program Director with aligning accreditation standards and learning objectives for the PPSC Simulation Center.

This is a Perkins grant funded position, limited to annual grant renewal.

Multi-year grants are funded based on the fiscal years for the full grant period.  However, there is no guarantee that funding is available year after year from the awarding agencies.  Employment with the college after each grant funded period is not assured. 

Grant funded positions cannot guarantee a payout of leave benefits.  Grant funded employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to schedule and utilize annual leave benefits during each grant period. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed high school diploma or completed GED.
  • Two years of professional level work experience performing similar duties to those described for this position.
  • Experience working in a simulation center or lab.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic file management.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Simulation Accreditation processes.
  • Experience with simulation software including Simcapture, Laerdal or Elevate Healthcare products and experience with audio-visual equipment.
  • Experience with Banner Student Information System.
  • Experience with ordering supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions 

  • Onboarding of new part-time personnel for simulation.
  • Ordering supplies and equipment for the simulation team.
  • Ensuring skedda and outlook calendars are up to date.
  • Data entry, filing, and record keeping for Simulation Accreditation.
  • Setting up, tearing down, and running Simulations for the Interdisciplinary Simulation Center.
  • Communicate effectively with the simulation team.
