What we are looking for:
You will be responsible for ensuring effective actions are taken to satisfy regulatory authority requests and compliance with the National Law and Regulations (and associated legislation) across the organisation.
The role:
- Being the first point of contact between Affinity’s early education and care services across Australia, Affinity’s corporate office, and their Regulatory Bodies.
- Analyse and respond to incoming complaints and incidents ensuring accurate and effective information gathering.
- Manage, assess, and co-ordinate the management of reportable incidents and complaints across Affinity’s services ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are appropriately notified.
- Track and ensure any matters requiring external notifications are actioned and closed out by the legislative deadlines.
- Provide support and advice to the organisation around the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Prepare reports, submissions and briefs in relation to incidents and complaints to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders within the organisation.
- Maintain and update various relevant databases and information storage systems around regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all communication is accurate, professional and adapted to suit the relevant stakeholder audience.
- Leverage paralegal experience to interpret regulatory requirements, prepare compliance documentation, and support investigations.
- Apply legal research and analytical skills to assess incident reports, compliance breaches, and regulatory notices.
- Draft, review, and organise legal and compliance-related documents in alignment with industry regulations.
- Manage cases reported under the reportable conduct scheme operating within NSW, VIC, ACT, and WA under guidance of the Regulatory Compliance Manager
- Prepare reports, submissions and briefs in relation to incidents and complaints to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders within the organisation
Skills and experience you’ll need to be successful:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in compliance and enforcement or regulatory and legislative environments desired but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability in handling compliance issues with professionalism.
- Experience within early education and care is desirable but not mandatory.
