Milestones Early Learning Meadowbrook are on the look-out for a Part-time Chef

If you're interested in a career as a Cook/Chef in Early Childcare Education then our Milestones Early Learning Meadowbrook are looking for a dedicated, professional Cook/Chef who can prepare and create nutritional meals while working closely with educators, families and other staff to create a supportive and nurturing environment for young children.

If you are a dedicated chef and you enjoy preparing creative, healthy food for young children, then this may be a great opportunity for you as we currently have two positions available.

We currently have a permanent part-time position and can be available at least 4-5 days of the week. You will receive a Master Roster with fixed hours and days if you are looking for a Worklife balance. Here at Affinity Education, we offer the Government incentive to ALL our staff.

The role

• This role enables you to play an active part in creating healthy menus.
• You’ll have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas and tips!
• You’ll also be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget and access healthy menus to enable children’s growth and development while in childcare.

About you

• Efficient and capable cook
• Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages
• Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control
• Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards
• Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs
• Keen to participate in the early educational opportunities of teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events

You already have

• Current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)
• Experience in an early childhood setting
• Reliable transport to and from our centre
• Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
