About our Centre
Welcome to Papilio Barton! We're passionate about educating our children to know the importance and benefits of healthy choices and nutritious meals. We are a 65 place centre now on the lookout for our next Cook to join our fun loving team!
The role
- This role enables you to play an active part in creating healthy menus.
- You’ll have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas and tips!
- You’ll also be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget and access healthy menus to enable children’s growth and development while in child care.
About you
- Efficient and capable cook
- Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages
- Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control
- Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards
- Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs
- Keen to participate in the early educational opportunities of teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events
You already have
- Current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)
- Experience in an early childhood setting
- Reliable transport to and from our centre
- Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
