Your Opportunity

In 2024, IGO proudly launched a refreshed corporate strategy which was founded on deep market research and analysis. The strategy focuses on upstream mining of lithium, copper and nickel and gives clarity to how this will be achieved through efficient capital allocation, disciplined decision making, strong governance and great operating performance.

We are now seeking a highly skilled Analyst to join our Business Development team and assist in the delivery of crucial data, analytics and market insights in support of this strategy. Core to this role will be analysing and evaluating strategic initiatives, acquisition, divestment, and investment opportunities and conducting deep industry analysis.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Build, review and maintain operating and financial models on potential acquisition targets;
  • Provide accurate and timely modelling and analytical support to the team across all projects;
  • Perform financial and operational analysis and benchmarking across commodity markets and assets;
  • Review, analyse and interpret financial information and data (financial statements, technical studies, models, databases and third-party reports);
  • Prepare outputs in Excel, PowerPoint and Word for presentation to key stakeholders;
  • Perform company, industry and market research to support ongoing development of the company strategy; and
  • Support investment origination through quantitative analyses and participating in discussions with external advisors and attendance at industry and sector events.

 

Your Experience

Along with an influential communication style and pro-active attitude, you must be a team player and bring the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications;
  • Experience in a similar role within the mining / resources sector or professional services / consulting firms; 
  • Highly developed financial modelling, analytical skills and quantitative ability;
  • Proficiency in discounted cash flow modelling, trading comps, accretion and dilution analysis, resource and reserve multiples and earnings multiple analysis; 
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and work to strict deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce and present detailed presentations;
  • Collaborative and personable working style, with the ability to influence and negotiate;
  • Attention to detail and highly organised with experience working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Team orientated with great interpersonal skills whilst carrying a high degree of initiative; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
