The Cosmos Project located 30km north of Leinster, was acquired by IGO in 2022. It has since transitioned into care and maintenance, and all efforts are being taken to protect the optionality to restart Cosmos in the future.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor that is passionate about Environment and Sustainability to join a small care and maintenance team. In this role, you will have a back-to-back and report into the Manager Environment who is based offsite. This role will suit someone who is happy to work autonomously in a small team to achieve outcomes.

You will work collaboratively alongside the broader care and maintenance team on site and be responsible for stewardship to Care & Maintenance operations, mine closure and rehabilitation activities.

Within this role your key duties will include:

• Undertaking site inspections, monitoring programs and data collection;
• Preparing annual reports for submission to regulators;
• Supporting mine closure planning and progressive rehabilitation programs;
• Providing support and technical expertise to the site, contributing to proactive environmental performance; and
• Maintenance of the site’s Environmental Management System and driving continuous improvement of environmental management to ensure IGO maintains industry best practice.

Your Experience

At IGO we are focused on continuous improvement and strive for operational excellence whilst finding the fun in what we do. Our successful candidate will be safety focussed with a desire to be part of a team and will also bring:

• A degree in Environmental Science or similar field;
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice environmental outcomes in a mining or mineral processing operation;
• The ability to engage and work closely with key stakeholders across the business:
• A strong understanding of environmental management systems;
• Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence, and
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
