Your Opportunity

Our Nova operation is in the closing stages of its life cycle with approximately 18 months of mine life remaining before moving towards closure activities. 

We are seeking a Superintendent Engineering to lead a high performing and motivated team that delivers continuous improvements in asset reliability and availability, maintenance planning and resource utilisation of our Fixed Plant to our Nova operation.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the team, ensuring compliance with IGO’s vision and values, and promoting an emotionally safe and open workplace;
  • Actively participate and take actions to improve and sustain a positive safety culture;
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of service in technical engineering support and maintenance planning to drive improvements in asset reliability and cost;
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations with a view to improving asset reliability, availability and utilisation;
  • Implement proactive engineering and planning systems to improve asset reliability and utilisation;
  • Assist in developing and implementing the maintenance strategy, aligning with best practice and compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets; and
  • Managing assigned service-level agreement contracts.

 

Your Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have extensive experience and a proven track record in a similar position, preferably within the mining industry. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team leader with strong business management skills and a dedication to fostering a proactive workplace safety culture. You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent industry experience / qualifications;
  • Extensive technical experience demonstrating success in a similar role within the mining industry;
  • Experience in a leadership position including performance development and continuous improvement;  
  • Strong financial acumen, budget management experience and project management experience; 
  • Experience with CMMS systems and knowledge of statutory compliances;
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers’ licence; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last 2 months.
