JOB SUMMARY

The School of Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the financial, logistic, and accreditation tasks for accreditation of continuing education for licensed pharmacists, as well as develop and review educational content for Pharmacy Continuing Education. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accredit continuing education (CE) in strict compliance with Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) guidelines.
  • Ensure that all faculty/speakers/authors submit disclosures, copyright release documents, author information sheets, and related materials. Ensure that there are no conflicts of interest.
  • Independently maintains and monitors the financials for CE operations (budgets, payments, etc.), and approves routine expenditures.
  • Manage resources and materials used in the CE program; monitor the CE program supplies and inventory.
  • Coordinate CE events (e.g., logistics, catering, registration) for in-person and virtual events.
  • Oversee CE webpages, editing and adding information as needed to remain up to date and support CE program activities.
  • Provide customer service by working with licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure they receive credit earned and working with our speakers and authors.
  • Supervise student employees who assist with our accreditation tasks.
  • Work with co-providers to provide logistics and accreditation of outside programs.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of contracts with a variety of constituents at UConn and outside of UConn.
  • Develop educational content for CE activities and review CE content for student-centered learning.
  • Develop educationally appropriate assessments.
  • Edit assessments, post-tests, and CE content to ensure it adheres to SHHS Guidelines for Plain Language.
  • Create, schedule, and post advertising to increase learner uptake.
  • Analyze data from assessments and post-tests and provide feedback to speakers and authors/faculty to improve and support the CE program.
  • Review and process contracts from grantors to ensure adherence to State requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-activity reports for CE that is grant-funded and post to a variety of different software programs.
  • Work with a team to ensure CE Curriculum Development is learner-appropriate and in keeping with current educational science.
  • Anticipate the expiration dates for various CE activities and determine if reaccreditation is possible or warranted.
  • Construct schedules for large certificate programs so content is updated and accredited, and no gaps in learner access occur.
  • Lead the preparation of the report for the ACPE audit that occurs every six years.
  • Engage in continuous learning, stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree and years requirement.
  2. Knowledge of the profession of pharmacy.
  3. Knowledge of ACPE accreditation standards.
  4. Knowledge of pharmacist and technician licensure requirements.
  5. Experience with budgets and financial organization.
  6. Experience producing clear and concise documents and budgets.
  7. Experience with website management, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Webex, and Teams.
  8. Experience providing customer service to diverse stakeholders.
  9. Experience communicating clearly and effectively in both oral and written formats.
  10. Experience navigating complex projects, completing tasks on time, and working independently under stressful conditions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in sciences, health sciences, education, or event management.
  2. Four years of experience in education, event management, accreditation standards, or organization management.
  3. Master’s degree in any of the above areas.
