JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut Women’s Volleyball program is seeking a highly motivated and experienced coach to serve as an Assistant Coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will play a significant role in supporting all aspects of a competitive Division I volleyball program, including on-court coaching and player development, scouting and analytics, recruiting, and day-to-day program operations. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience training and developing student-athletes at a high level, with particular emphasis on positional development, recruiting, and fostering a competitive training environment. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach and staff to continue building a program that competes for championships within the Big East Conference while supporting the academic and personal growth of our student-athletes. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of collegiate or professional volleyball coaching experience within the past five (5) years.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to train and develop setters.
  • Demonstrated experience in the recruiting and evaluation of qualified prospective student-athletes.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and execution of daily practice sessions.
  • Experience managing the day-to-day logistics and support of student-athletes, including coordination of schedules, admissions and operational needs within a Division I athletic program. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and correct application of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with volleyball analytics and performance analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting with the planning, organization, and execution of volleyball camps and clinics.
  • Familiarity with administrative responsibilities within a volleyball program.
  • Strong commitment to supporting the academic goals and success of student-athletes and the University.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of collegiate volleyball coaching experience within the last (7) seven years, demonstrating progressive responsibility within a competitive program.
  • Collegiate playing experience.
  • Experience coaching and or playing in postseason competition; i.e. league/conference tournament, NCAA Tournament and/or NIVC.
  • Possesses an established geographic recruiting network and experience organizing and managing a program’s recruiting database.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
