JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the full-time position of Assistant Softball Coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities include: assisting the Head Softball coach in planning and organizing all phases of a Division I softball program, including skill development of pitchers and catchers; coordination of on and off campus recruiting efforts; overseeing camps and clinics; coordinating scouting of opponents; ability to throw batting practice; and assisting with administrative responsibilities with the program including team travel, marketing, program operations, game management, and other duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years collegiate playing experience.
  • One-year collegiate coaching experience (within the past six years) working specifically with hitters and infielders.
  • Basic film, editing and analytical abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience at the power 4 level (playing or coaching), experience in retaining athletes based on their Name, Image and Likeness.
  • Student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its softball program.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

Salary is commensurate with experience.
