Job Description

The candidate holding the Electronics Technician II position will perform installations and related work on instrumented and automated vehicles including testing state-of-the-art electronics, as directed for Hardware Electronics Laboratory/Technical Operations Group.
Duties include:
-Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, and instrumentation for data acquisition in vehicles.
-Builds brackets and simple enclosures for electronic components per specifications.
-Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.
-Debugging electronic assemblies to component level using various equipment including but not limited to oscilloscopes, meters, computer controlled test equipment, and vehicle diagnostic devices.
-Tests complex boards and assemblies using test processes and procedures.
-Reads and interprets electronic schematics and assembly drawings.
-Performs duties ranging from advanced level and highly skilled to supervisory level.
-Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time

Required Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related field or equivalent education and work experience.
-Demonstrated ability to install electronic equipment in a variety of motor vehicles.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of hand tools, powered hand tools, soldering equipment, multimeter, oscilloscope, vehicle diagnostic devices, and basic vehicle wiring.
-Must be able to modify cables from a given schematic and perform basic diagnostics.
-Computer proficiency expected, specifically Microsoft office applications.

Starting salary is $40,000; commensurate with experience
