Job Description

Provides technical support to clinical faculty and senior veterinary students in the medical sections of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, including ward and treatment room management, administering treatments and medications ordered by clinical faculty, and animal care administration/management. Special nursing care procedures may include special diagnostic procedures, infection control/isolation management. Assist in other areas directed by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of basic companion animal anatomy and physiology as a result of courses or experience; ability to understand instructions; ability to handle and restrain all species of animal; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer). Previous experience in a veterinary clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed or licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT).
