Job Description

This part -time position (20 hours per week) works independently and reports to the program manager providing administrative, fiscal and HR support for the CMDA program. This position will serve as a first point of contact for the CMDA program providing excellent and professional customer service in person, by telephone and by email. This position will help plan and execute CMDA events throughout the year (retreat, Capstone presentations, shadow days, graduation receptions, ambassador lunches/trainings, student awards dinner, etc.)

The ideal candidate:
• Will have an eagerness to learn and expand knowledge and skills
• Must be willing to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

• Experience with general office equipment and familiarity with Microsoft/Google programs (Word, Excel, Forms, Drive, etc.)
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service to a diverse population
• Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality
• Must be able to provide strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous administrative or office experience
• Knowledge of state and university policies and procedures
• Experience using large enterprise systems (HokieMart, Banner, Navigate are common at Virginia Tech but other relevant experience welcomed as well)
