The Rotational Accounting Fellowship within the Vice President for Finance senior management area is a 12-month experiential learning and development opportunity for recent graduates or those new to Higher Education Administration. The Accounting Fellow will work in close collaboration with the managers within individual departments, which may include:
• General Accounting
• Accounting Operations
• Accounts Receivable
• Payroll
• Financial Reporting
• Accounts Payable
• Risk Management
The Accounting Fellow will spend an assigned amount of time in rotations with two or three of the operations listed above and have the opportunity to work on specific projects and assignments that will provide the Accounting Fellow an excellent understanding of the university’s financial operations and administrative functions. The Accounting Fellow will assist with special project assignments, which vary based on the unit’s role within the university. Projects may include the development of benchmark data, business analyses, presentations, reports, position papers, and more. As possible, the Office of the Vice President for Finance will work with the Accounting Fellow to establish a schedule of unit rotations and projects that align with the Accounting Fellow’s interests, strengths, and experiences.
For candidates who will hold a bachelor’s degree by December 31, 2024, the targeted start date is January 2025. For those graduating in May 2025, the targeted start date is in June 2025.

• Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in accounting, finance, business information technology, or other related studies
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Expressed interest in higher education administration
• Experience with statistical or data reporting and analysis
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Experience with flexing priorities and multi-tasking
• Experience working with confidential or sensitive information
• Leadership experience
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing work environments
• Experience with project or event management activities
• Experience analyzing data
• Strong desire to improve processes and operations
Salary range of $52,000-$56,000
