Job Description

Implementation of Virginia DECA student organization activities in the local school divisions as an integral part of the instructional programs in Career and Technical Education; accounting services for all student and contract funds; professional development activities for local school personnel; provide any additional services as identified by the Virginia Department of Education.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Marketing Education or a related career and technical education field. A professional/advisory level member of a career and technical education co-curricular student organization for at least three years is required. The candidate must also be licensed and certified to teach marketing education at the secondary level. Candidate must be proficient in database/spreadsheet software and website maintenance, as well as utilizing tools for finance and budgeting. Possess comprehensive organizational abilities, exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and be able to work independently and set priorities. Exhibit considerable knowledge of coordinating and administering student organization activities, including meetings, conferences, and other co-curricular programs, and the monitoring of the overall management of the organization, including planning, and execution of new and existing programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in marketing education or a related career and technical education field. Experience with DECA state and national conferences, Board of Trustees, or related DECA experiences.
