Reporting to the Assistant Director of Real Estate Services, the Real Estate Coordinator effectively supports the planning and execution of real estate transactions, leasing, and other real estate management functions. The position will work to ensure that all real estate transactions are completed in an effective and timely manner for the benefit of the university.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field; or education and considerable real estate transactional experience, including contract writing to equate to degree.
• Working knowledge of real estate principles, financial analyses, practices, and law, and contract writing and interpretation;
• Experience in examining title reports, surveys, property descriptions, appraisals, and environmental surveys/reports.
• Experience arranging logistics for meetings, events, and/or programs.
• Experience in the use of computers, and the use of word processing and accounting/spreadsheet software.
• Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and the ability to effectively interact and build relationships with diverse internal and external constituencies.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects; excellent organizational, leadership, and delegation skills; and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to travel to on-campus and off-campus facilities sites, with occasional overnight travel.
• Real estate transactional experience, preferably within a higher education setting.
• State of Virginia knowledge in the areas of contract management and compliance management.
• Experience as a Real Estate Paralegal.
• Credentialed as a Real Estate Paralegal.
• Notary Public certification/registration or ability to obtain appointment of Notary Public.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
