Virginia Tech seeks a dynamic Business Architect to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment that drives meaningful change across our institution. - Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field or a combination of education, training, and experience that equates to a Master’s degree.
- Significant experience in developing business capability models.
- Significant experience in capturing current-state business processes, designing future-state business processes to meet strategic objectives.
- Significant experience in identifying organizational unit competencies to perform processes/tasks.
- Significant experience in associating applications and application functionality to business processes.
Significant experience in identifying unique flow and structure of organizational processes and units, resulting in custom application development.
- Significant experience in capturing dataflows required for successful execution of business processes.
- Knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organizational structures.
- Knowledge of EA tools (preferably Bizzdesign Horizzon) to develop business architecture deliverables, and Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) 2.0.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with change management of process, organizational structure and technology, with a focus on minimizing customization of applications, workflows, integrations and metadata.
- Demonstrated the following critical competencies: strategic thinking, strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration amongst stakeholders, stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with Higher Education operations, structures and information technology landscape such as teaching and learning management system, and research administration management systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in large-scale business transformation.
- Knowledge of Business Architecture framework (BIZBOK) and Enterprise Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
- Certified in Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture.
- Knowledge of Decision Model and Notation (DMN).
- Knowledge of organization change management.
