Assists with the setup and break-down of laboratory exercises for the undergraduate laboratories within the Department of Biological Sciences. This position is responsible for maintenance of supplies, equipment, preparation of reagents and solutions, and assisting Laboratory Coordinator and Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) during class time and/or as requested.
● Working knowledge and experience using common laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, pipettes, balances, pH meters and microscopes.
● Experience and knowledge of biological laboratory principles, procedures, techniques, and safety regulations.
● Experience with material preparation for laboratory exercises
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to accurately and concisely provide direction to the graduate and undergraduate students who use the teaching laboratory facilities and classrooms.
● Bachelor of Science degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related discipline
● Experience working in teaching laboratories
● Must be able to work independently with limited instruction, and with a team.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
