HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Thomas E. Cook Counseling team as an embedded counselor on the Roanoke campus; a department committed to a spirit of excellence in providing timely and relevant university mental health services.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Assistant Director for Residential Well-being and Embedded counselors and will also coordinate with the Associate Vice President for Health Sciences and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs on the Roanoke campus in a part time appointment.
3) You’ll provide brief, culturally competent counseling for individuals, groups, and couples with diverse clinical concerns while also maintaining full and accurate case notes.
4) You'll provide direct clinical and educational services to students while also providing consultation and training opportunities for the faculty, advisors and staff.
5) You'll provide direct clinical services to undergraduate and graduate students of the Roanoke campus to include initial consultation and assessment, individual and group counseling, psychiatric referrals, outreach, and consultations for faculty, staff, parents, and students.
6) You'll participate in additional activities such as participation in orientation for new students, faculty, and staff; educational programming in suicide prevention or the Community Resiliency Model (CRM); periodic wellness committee work; and attendance at department and college meetings.
7) You’ll work 2-3 days per week (to be determined) and be offered base compensation between $32.70/hr - $41.35/hr.
