Job Description

Provides academic administrative, operational, and graduate program support, with a focus on the Finance majors, options and minor within the department. Works with Lead Admin. as well as department head, faculty, and office staff in performing ongoing activities of the department. General support encompasses coordination of departmental faculty activities; creating spreadsheets; data entry; drafting, proofreading, and editing documents; assistance with committees as well as other duties assigned. Responsible for timetables, Force Ads, graduate coordinating, recruiting, teaching assistance, book ordering, grade changes, and point of contact for all student information, including graduate student assistantships and stipends. Serves as back-up to fiscal position and other tasks needed in the office.

Required Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Suite, spreadsheets, and database management systems; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interpret policies and procedures; ability to develop and accurately maintain records and files; ability to interpret transcripts and determine prerequisite course work; ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals of varying backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing administrative and clerical support in a professional office environment; ability to handle, manipulate, store, and retrieve digital files; working knowledge of Banner Finance and or Banner Student Systems software or equivalent relational database; strong computer skills with working knowledge of a variety of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Slate, email, calendaring and internet browsers; and possess excellent grammatical and spelling skills.
