Reporting to the Director for Research Impact & Intelligence, the Research Impact & Intelligence Project Coordinator will work in a team-based environment to perform research on several key research and collaboration initiatives across campus. Daily activities can span the following:
-Curating Virginia Tech faculty curriculum vitae data in the Symplectics Elements system
-Reconciling and merging Virginia Tech faculty Scopus profiles to facilitate more efficient and scalable methods of research assessment
-Searching, reading, compiling and cleaning data, analyzing, synthesizing, and effectively communicating findings, both verbally and digitally
-Updating Libguides, developing Powerpoint slides for senior level administrators and enhancing or designing documents for various types of internal and external publication, adhering to university branding standards
-Researching and benchmarking academic programs, facilities, and initiatives
-Bachelor’s degree
-Experience working in an academic research-intensive university library
-Experience searching library databases and working with library publication data
-Experience with research information management systems such as Symplectics Elements or Elsevier’s Pure
-Experience with research analytics systems such as Scival, InCites, or Dimensions.ai
-Demonstrated excellence for attention detail
-Experience with Microsoft Office’ PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
-Knowledge of integrated AI tools into daily workflows for efficiency
-Knowledge of ethics associated with using AI in the workplace and higher education
-Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
-Experience building presentations for senior level administrators
-Certification in Scival and Scopus
$21.00-$22.00/hour dependent on education and experience

- The candidate will be required to complete a background check.
- Work Schedule: Average of 30 hrs per week to be worked between Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Schedule includes working school breaks and holidays.
