This is a full-time professional position within Virginia Tech Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS). The individual will be responsible for managing the tutorial and mentoring programs, which includes the hiring, training, and supervising tutorial and mentoring staff. The individual will foster an environment where academic resources are readily accessible to student-athletes by meeting their tutoring and mentoring needs. In light of a time-sensitive environment, this position requires consistent and open communication with SAASS staff and a thorough understanding of NCAA, ACC Conference, and University rules and regulations.
• Master’s degree, or in process of completing a graduate degree program, must be completed by May 2025.
• Familiarity with, commitment to, and willingness to expand knowledge of NCAA rules.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience working within a student-athlete academic support department.
• Experience managing and supervising a student staff.
• Proficiency with Navigate.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
