Job Description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Manager the Operations Supervisor will participate as a key member of the facilities management team within the Division of Student Affairs. The Operations Supervisor will assist the Maintenance Operations Manager with the daily operations of the Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehousing, Receiving and CMMS departments that provide service to all Residential and Auxiliary operations. The Operations Supervisor will have daily responsibility for the oversight and direction of the warehousing and distribution of all parts and supplies for the Facilities and Operations Department. This position will have direct supervision of the parts room, inventory and receiving personnel. They will be responsible to modify, create, and update inventory records in the inventory management system. Prepare stock accounting documents.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management, general Business, Project Management Supply Chain Management or equivalent related training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems, preferably CMMS or other maintenance-related software.
• Previous experience in a stockroom and/or warehouse environment.
• Experience supervising employees to include scheduling, assigning work, training, evaluating performance, hiring, and taking disciplinary action when required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience in facilities operation management.
• Ability to use and experience with HokieMart, Banner, or similar.
• Experience scheduling and monitoring the progress of work to assure timely completion.
• Proven effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
• Customer service experience in dealing with the public, vendors, and customers both inside & outside the organization.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
