We’re currently searching for a Fiscal Technician Senior to join our finance team in Blacksburg, VA, to support the Health and Wellness programs of Student Affairs. So, if you are an organized, fiscally savvy individual with an eye for detail and a passion for numbers, this could be the job for you!

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the finance team with your primary focus and support for Cook Counseling Center; offering occasional aide for other areas of Health and Wellness, as the need arises.
2) You’ll be responsible for providing financial services such as purchasing, making travel arrangements and processing travel reimbursements, handling monthly reconciliations, as well as monitoring and managing encumbrances.
3) You’ll be responsible for other duties like running ad-hoc financial reports, processing wage payroll and tracking, and records retention. Plus, VT fixed assets and surplus property coordination.
4) You’ll be providing some basic HR functions when needed.
5) You’ll be reporting directly to the Director of Cook Counseling Center.
6) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $50,000-$55,300, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Associate degree in accounting/finance or related, or, equivalent experience.
• Previous experience performing fiscal and HR duties in a professional setting.
• Prior experience in purchasing, reconciliations and providing financial reports.
•Possess strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team with a high degree of accuracy in a deadline driven environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a higher education setting.
• Experience with Virginia Tech systems such as Banner, HokieMart, TimeClock Chrome River, Microstrategy, FINTRACS and VT Foundation funds.
