Job Description

The Procurement Contract Support Specialist is a highly motivated, detail oriented position that will serve as an integral team member of the Operations Team within central procurement and will support the acquisition process of goods and services for the university. Responsible for the maintenance and administration of nearly 1200 negotiated and executed term contracts among multiple and varied commodities and services.

Oversees the contracts system, which tracks contract expiration dates, renewal periods, rebates, modifications and terminations of those contracts. Responsible for contracts system maintenance, testing of system upgrades, and development and implementation of new contract workflows and processes. Acts as the point of contact for dealing with Government Procurement Organizations (GPO) for whom we utilize for cooperative contracting.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated proficiency in database management and computer software applications in a Windows environment, including a high level of competence with Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and follow through with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly and logically.
- Proven ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply new information in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with confidence and professionalism in challenging or sensitive situations, including the capacity to navigate difficult conversations with internal and external stakeholders while upholding and advocating for the university’s policies, contractual standards, and best interests.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of acceptable governmental procurement methods, terminology and principles.
- Knowledge of types and elements of contracts sufficient to permit review of contracts and perform related duties such as review, providing and seeking approvals and providing administrative oversight of the contract administration process.
- Experience working with Jaggaer or other comparable contract management software.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field and relevant related work experience.
