The Global Education Office (GEO) at Virginia Tech invites applications for the position of Data & Systems Coordinator, a full-time, in-person staff position.
This position serves a dual role as both the primary administrator of the Terra Dotta Software for Study Abroad (MyStudyAbroad portal) and the lead for data reporting and analysis within the office. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical proficiency, data analysis skills, and a user-centered mindset to improve operational effectiveness, accessibility, and student engagement in global learning opportunities through high-quality data collection, reporting, and analysis. This role is responsible for supervising and supporting the Applications and Systems Assistant, a part-time student wage position, dedicated to project management, application management and general office support. Due to the nature of this position, there will be times when work is necessary outside of normal business hours and could include late evenings or weekend hours.
Potential Future Role Development:
As part of the Global Education Office’s (GEO) long term centralization plan, this position has potential to evolve over the next 18-24 months to focus more heavily on data analytics, reporting, and system-level oversight of the Terra Dotta software with the reduction of program page and application management duties. This development is contingent on GEO receiving additional institutional support and employee performance and will include expanded responsibilities in data analysis and reporting.
