This position is independently responsible for the development and implementation of Virginia HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) student organization activities working in collaboration with local school divisions to enhance and support instructional programs in Career and Technical Education. Other duties include: accounting services for all student and contract funds; professional development activities for local school personnel; provide any additional services as identified by the Virginia Department of Education.
Master’s degree in health and medical sciences or a related career and technical education field OR a bachelor’s degree in health and medical sciences or a related career technical education field with experience equivalent to a master’s degree may be substituted.
The incumbent is required to have been a professional/advisory level member of a career and technical education co-curricular student organization for at least three years. Working experience with HOSA or a related career and technical education student organization. Proficient in database and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Quicken), website maintenance and content management systems, and skilled in leveraging financial and budgeting tools to support program planning and resource allocation. Comprehensive organizational abilities, exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and be able to work independently and set priorities. Considerable knowledge of coordinating and administering student organization activities, including meetings, conferences, and other co-curricular programs, and the monitoring of the overall management of the organization, including planning, and execution of new and existing programs.
An endorsement by the appropriate board of the Department of Health Professions.
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime
This is a hybrid position with location to be determined based on where the successful candidate resides.
The successful candidate will be required to have a driver's license check with an acceptable and safe driving record.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
