The position is responsible for providing technical support for the Yuan Laboratory at Virginia Tech. The individuals report directly to Dr. Lijuan Yuan. Duties will involve performing animal procedures in a gnotobiotic pig facility and assisting research projects in immunology and virology in a BSL2 lab.
• Successful completion of a bachelor of science degree in Biology, Animal Science, Microbiology or a closely related field.
• Highly organized and assume responsibility, flexibility, and versatility to be able to work on different laboratory duties and work with different personalities
• Excellent data entry, management, and record-keeping skill and experience
• Current work permit in the US
• Prior experience working in projects using gnotobiotic pigs and in BLS2 lab.
• Experienced in immunology/virology assays
• Prior experience working with pigs
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
Starting at $36,501; commensurate with experience
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
