Reporting to the Director of Financial Management and Business Operations, the Business and Operations Analyst plays a key role in supporting strategic and operational initiatives for the Financial Management area. This highly visible position will contribute to the advancement of institutional goals by facilitating business reviews, supporting long-term planning, and promoting operational excellence across university-related business functions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and supporting comprehensive reviews of university-affiliated business and commercial activities, including the evaluation of policy 3005 compliance.
• Collaborating on the development of long- and short-term business plans and financial models to inform strategic decision-making.
• Coordinating the implementation and assessment of strategic planning initiatives and continuous quality improvement projects, ensuring alignment with university objectives and compliance with university, state, and federal regulations.
• Conducting financial analyses, including budget evaluations, forecasting, and trend analysis.
• Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a financial role in higher education, with exposure to fund accounting, budgeting, payroll, and routine finance operations.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex data sets to inform strategic decisions.
• Experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, and process analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Intermediate level skills with current Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, or provide an assessment of internal controls for a broad scope of function
• An understanding of and commitment to proper financial ethics and internal controls.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and financial software systems relevant to business operations and financial planning.
• General knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and of Federal rules, regulations, and circulars.
• Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite, business intelligence tools, Banner, and project management software.
• Demonstrated ability to deploy logical and creative thinking in a problem-solving environment.
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime
Salary range up to $60,000
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
