Job Description

The Graduate Events and Recruitment Specialist, reporting directly to the Director of Admissions for the Master of Engineering in CSA & CPE, is a key team member responsible for executing high-engagement recruitment events; managing administrative processes, including evaluation of admission applications and the processing of scholarships; and representing Virginia Tech M.Eng. programs to prospective students on and off campus and through various outreach means. This role will entail independent decision making in admissions and close collaboration with various University units and vendors, including building operations, catering vendors, marking and communications, the Graduate School, and the Division of Enrollment Management. The ideal candidate excels in logistics, customer service, detail orientation, and an understanding of prospective graduate student behavior.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent years of training and experience;

- Proven analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.

- Excellent listening, customer service, presentation, interpersonal, networking, and public relations skills.

- Sound logistical thinking and orientation

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate eagerness to learn new things while maintaining a positive and flexible demeanor.

- Information technology aptitude with a demonstrated ability to learn and leverage software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree

- Experience in admissions

- Familiarity with MS Office software, software tools – MS Teams, CRM systems, Slate, and/or similar tools.

- Knowledge of prospective graduate student lifecycle
