Job Description

The Senior Analyst within the Research discipline plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the university’s strategic research initiatives. This position is responsible for identifying emerging research opportunities, analyzing complex data and trends, and providing institutional guidance that helps shape and focus research programs. The Senior Analyst works closely with faculty, research teams, and administrative stakeholders to align research efforts across departments and disciplines, fostering collaboration and maximizing the impact of university-sponsored and externally funded research initiatives. Operating with a high level of independence, the Senior Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in research program evaluation and strategy. They are responsible for synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, developing research impact assessments, and advising on best practices for proposal development and program implementation. Additionally, the Senior Analyst may lead efforts to design and improve internal processes that support the planning and execution of research goals, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and compliance with sponsor requirements. As a senior-level individual contributor, the Senior Analyst may mentor junior staff, lead working groups, and serve on cross-functional teams focused on research advancement. They are expected to exercise sound judgment in problem-solving and contribute significantly to long-term research planning and policy development. Through their analytical insights and strategic recommendations, the Senior Analyst supports the university’s mission to grow its research enterprise and strengthen its position as a leader in innovation and discovery.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in faculty development, curriculum design, and educational research.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.
• History of ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with analysis of large and/or complex datasets related to STEM education research, and leading publication of research results in prominent journals
• Prior experience working within a higher education setting.
