Job Description

The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for two tenure-track positions in the Department of Finance, Insurance and Business Law at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (with tenure). These positions present an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing department. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. The positions are based in Blacksburg, VA with an expected start date of August 2026. Applications should be submitted by November 21, 2025.

Required Qualifications

• Successful candidates should possess a doctoral degree in finance or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by August 10, 2026
• Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must exhibit the potential to publish in top-tier finance and finance-related journals
• Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must possess an outstanding academic record, including publications in top-tier finance and finance-related journals and evidence of national/international recognition
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
