Reporting to the Business and Operations Manager in the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Financial Reporting and Quality Control Manager will be responsible for preparing reports, graphs, and analyses for the purpose of ensuring data integrity, quality control and providing data to management in the Office of Sponsored Programs. The position generates, reviews, and reconciles a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports. The Financial Reporting and Quality Control Manager will utilize a variety of systems to prepare the needed data and reports including Banner Financials, SUMMIT Agreements and SUMMIT Proposals as well as other Microsoft products. Additionally, the position is responsible for financial reporting, reconciliation of OSP budgets and review activities as they relate to a variety of financial activities including but not limited to office salaries, operating budgets, holding funds, foundation fund accounts and other university accounts as needed.
- Degree or equivalent training/experience in business, accounting, or related field.
- Demonstrated professional-level customer service experience.
- PC proficiency, including programs such as word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database applications.
- Experience using queries and reports utilizing large datasets from multiple systems in a financial setting.
- Project administration and/or project management experience.
- Experience with Federal and nonfederal grants and/or contract regulations.
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage large volumes of work.
- Grants administration experience.
- Project administration and/or project management experience in a research setting.
- Experience with federal and nonfederal grant and contract regulations.
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime
Commensurate with experience, starting at $65,000
Position is hybrid with a weekly on-campus presence, and will require the completion of a telework agreement in accordance with Policy 4325, Alternative Work Site and Telework Policy. Must be within a commutable distance to Blacksburg for weekly in-office engagement. The hybrid work schedule will be confirmed following an on-site training period.
