Job Description

The Blader Laboratory studies how infections in the brain cause neuronal complications such as seizures. We reported that when mice are infected with the protozoan parasite that the majority of their inhibitory synapses are eliminated through phagocytosis. A postdoctoral fellow is being recruit to continue our studies and discover why inhibitory synapses are specifically eliminated and what are the neuronal and/or immunological cells and proteins that mediate inhibitory synapses elimination.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in microbiology, neuroscience, immunology, or a related field. Ph.D. must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment, with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with rodent models of infection and/or neurological techniques.
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
