Reporting to the Building Manager, the Building Operations Coordinator provides support for Center for the Arts presented performances and activities, rental events, and facility operations. Responsibilities include supporting public business hours and public and private events by acting as designated facility manager, providing front-line customer service to facility guests, serving as a welcoming and helpful day-of-event point of contact for rental needs, and assisting with front-of-house event set up. The Building Operations Coordinator also assists with overall building management activities, housekeeping, administrative work, emergency planning and coordination, and building safety and security. The Building Operations Coordinator is expected to work a varying schedule, including day, evening, and weekend hours.
- Experience supporting or managing facility operations
- Customer service experience
- Problem solving skills
- Experience using interpersonal and organizational skills in a professional setting
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability and willingness to work a varying schedule, including frequent evening and weekend hours.
- Event management experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Practical knowledge of theater operations
- Emergency management experience
- Experience with Virginia Tech-specific software, such as HokieMart and HokieServ
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
$45,000-$52,000; commensurate with experience
