Job Description

We’re currently searching for a Health Promotion Coordinator to join our Hokie Wellness team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re passionate about student well-being, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Hokie Wellness team; a department centered on providing holistic well-being resources to the Virginia Tech community by focusing on a variety of health and well-being topics.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Education, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. 
3) You’ll be responsible for advancing student health and well-being through the implementation, facilitation, and supervision of evidence-informed, theory-driven initiatives focused on connection and belonging
4) You'll oversee the daily operations of The Connection Project (TCP) as well as other programs and initiatives that enhance student connection and well-being.
5) You'll provide direct supervision to student facilitators and staff who support these initiatives.
6) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $48,000 - $51,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human development, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
• Experience with group facilitation/management skills and facilitating small groups of college students on mental health/connection topics.
• Experience supervising and mentoring student staff with strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with colleagues both departmentally and across campus to enhance programs supporting student connection and well-being.
• Experience facilitating and promoting programs that foster belonging, connection, and well-being.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in human development, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
• Prior experience collecting and working with both quantitative and qualitative data/research methods.
• Professional writing skills.

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some evenings/weekends as needed
