| The Department of Business Information Technology (BIT) in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for a non-tenure-track appointment at the Associate Collegiate Professor level beginning August 2026.
The BIT major includes Cybersecurity Management and Analytics (CMA), Decision Support Systems (DSS), and Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSM) options. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in security, privacy, risk management, data ethics, data governance, data analytics, machine learning, deep learning, or artificial intelligence. Candidates should have the academic background to teach, develop courses, and conduct research in information security, risk management, privacy management, data ethics, data governance, machine and deep learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
We seek candidates whose research, professional experience, teaching, and/or service can advance the Pamplin College of Business strategic plan. Duties include teaching cybersecurity, IT, and business analytics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Experience teaching technical security courses, security analytics, and/or data governance is preferred; teaching experience in risk management, privacy, security policy, cyberlaw, forensics, data analytics, or AI is beneficial.
Teaching load is 18 credit hours per academic year (typically 9 per semester). Other duties may include serving on departmental committees, student engagement and academic support, and occasional travel for professional meetings and conferences.
