Reporting to the Vice Commandant of Cadets, serves as business and financial manager for the Tailor Shop | Develops and manages department auxiliary budgets, and oversees fund reconciliation and other business processes | Assists Commandant with preparation and presentation of annual budget request | Performs budget allocation function, tracks the departmental budget, works with fixed assets inventory services on annual inventory audit | Manages all business functions of the Tailor Shop and provides assistance in support of major projects | Responsible for all personnel functions to include staffing requirements | Serves as hiring authority for department | Supervises two tailors, five seamstresses, and 7-10 wage employees | Completes performance plans and evaluations | Serves as departmental Human Resources representative in preparing and processing personnel documents | Prepares payroll transactions for wage employees or work study students | Maintains confidential files | Serves as TimeClock Manager
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and finance principles | Strong office computer skills including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software | Experience in tracking fixed assets/inventory | Experience managing and overseeing tasks requiring accurate data entry | Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills | Comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures | Experience providing executive level support in a professional office environment | Supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related area and/or equivalent training and experience. Experience managing business operations; working knowledge of university financial systems, policies, and procedures | Familiarity with military terms, ranks, and structure | Knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Finance, Human Resources and Student Banner/Warehouse and data available within each
