| Job Summary: |
MADE at Miami is a two-day, pre-semester program designed to bring together first-year students of color, international students, LGBTQ+ identifying students, and first-generation students in order to prepare them for life at Miami. The program begins before the rest of the first-years arrive, allowing students to build relationships, learn about campus resources, and develop a stronger sense of self. MADE is organized around four values that matter to the Miami community: Mentoring, Achievement, Diversity, and Excellence. We endeavor to send two important messages: You belong here at Miami, and We are here for you.
MADE Peer Leader Training will be Sunday, August 20, 2023 and Monday August 21, 2023.
MADE at Miami takes place from Tuesday, August 22, 2023 through Thursday, August 24, 2023. Must be available from Sunday, August 20, 2023 through Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Our Peer Mentors are a vital part of the MADE at Miami program. They serve as mentors, guides, and resources for the incoming students.

| Essential Duties: |
- Lead and mentor a group of 10-13 incoming first year students who will remain together throughout MADE.
- Facilitate activities and discussions regarding identity and experiences of the Miami student.
- Answer questions about resources available on Miami's campus.
- Serve the individual needs of the students in the peer groups as they work toward adjustments to collegiate life.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for incoming first year students.
- Assist with check-in procedures, including welcoming new students and their families.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
- Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in good standing at Miami University (both academically and disciplinary).
- Demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative skills.
- Show a commitment to diversity by accepting and learning from others while creating and maintaining an atmosphere of positive engagement.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills and contribute positively in a team environment.
- Attend required training on August 20, 2023 and August 21, 2023. (NOTE: Peer Leaders who live on-campus can move-in on August 19, 2023.)
- Must be present for the entirety of MADE at Miami 2023: Tuesday, August 22 through Thursday, August 24, 2023.
- Be prepared to serve on a panel to discuss their experience as a Miami student.

Participation in MADE at Miami as an incoming first-year student. (Preferred but not required)
