Job Title: Assistant Director, Education Abroad
Salary/Grade:

 $58,000 - $60,000

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Education Abroad is responsible for administration of a number of broad aspects of education abroad programming at Miami University including data management, compliance with multiple levels of university policies and other regulations, and faculty led program coordination. This position is approved for remote work on a hybrid basis following a successful period of on-boarding. Remote work is a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason. Duties/Physical Demands:

The Assistant Director will administer and oversee data collection and analysis primarily for the purposes of education abroad enrollment management strategic planning, using various software and resources; ensure that all faculty led customized study abroad/away, credit and not for credit, programs comply with university, state and federal regulations for personnel, contracts, state authorization, insurance and in other relevant areas; consulting with program directors on program proposals, marketing, application review, pre-departure orientation, logistics, and the financial management of programs; manage a portfolio of customized faculty-led academic travel programs in consultation across divisions, develop and implement intercultural and global learning assessment plans for travel education and student transition and development programs; advise students on the education abroad/away programs available in the office’s program portfolio; in the absence of the Director supervise Education Abroad staff and students as needed; may act on behalf of the Director as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Master’s degree by the start date of appointment and one year of supervisory experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with leadership experience at a supervisory level, previous experience with Terra Dotta systems, experience coordinating, managing, or developing study abroad programs, enrollment management experience, experience with assessment tools for intercultural learning, and experience in student advising.
