Job Title:

Support the social media and communication efforts of the Division of Student Life by creating content, attending events, collecting and analyzing data, and engaging with our users.

Salary/Grade:

$11.30 - $12.30 / hr

Hours per week:

8-10

Job Summary:

Support the social media and communication efforts of the Division of Student Life by creating content, attending events, collecting and analyzing data, and engaging with our users.

Essential Duties:

- Attend weekly social media associate meetings to strategize, brainstorm, and plan content.
- Create engaging, visual, intentional and helpful content for Miami students.
- Represent the Division of Student Life at various student-facing events; take video and photo to post on social in real time.
- Focus on 2-3 projects per semester (e.g., graphic design, short-form video, blog writing, social listening, analytics, recurring posts, etc.).
- Comply with all Miami University social media policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Current Miami University student with minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
-Strong written and verbal communication (including copy editing and proofreading ability)
-Self-motivated and detail-oriented
-Experience with social media
-Strong computer skills include Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn new programs
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

-Passion for social media and marketing
- Familiarity with campus resources, departments, offices and services available at Miami
-Proficiency in Adobe Suite (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
-Some video-editing experience
-Experience creating TikToks and/or Instagram Reels

The samples can include anything you've created on your own for class, a group project, student organization, other job, etc. I include your name at the top of the document.
