Survey Management Solutions (SMS) are the survey division of the Winslow Group, servicing all residential sub-division and infrastructure projects across the Group. We employ over 90 Surveyors across Victoria and Queensland. Our SMS infrastructure team helps deliver multiple projects throughout Victoria including major state government infrastructure projects.

We utilise the latest survey gear ranging from Total Stations, levels, GPS, machine guidance, drones, and laser scanners, and we always have innovation at the forefront of our business model.

As a Utility Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our projects by conducting comprehensive surveys to identify and map utility assets accurately. Your expertise will enable our engineering and construction teams to avoid potential conflicts with existing utilities, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of our projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that make a real difference in people's lives.

THE ROLE

The Key Responsibilities: will include, but not limited to:

  • Perform utility surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
  • Identify and map underground and overhead utility assets, including gas, water, electricity, telecommunications, and other relevant services.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate utility data integration into project plans.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices while conducting surveys in challenging and diverse environments.
  • Produce clear and detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve surveying processes.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Surveying or strong past experience as a Utility Surveyor 
  • Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor, with a strong understanding of utility mapping methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, (GPR and EMF experience a bonus)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines for utility mapping (eg. AS 5488)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to handle various challenges that may arise during surveys.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
