This major civil construction initiative will improve flood resilience, enhance traffic flow, and provide a safer, more efficient connection for thousands of road users each day. As part of this dynamic team, you’ll be contributing to a high-profile project that combines technical excellence with community value.
The primary objective of this position is to effectively manage and maintain accurate, current cost control and contract management throughout the lifecycle of the project. This involves tracking all project expenses, ensuring compliance with contract terms, managing changes or variations, and providing clear financial oversight to support successful project delivery within budget and schedule.
About the role:
- Management of the project’s procure to pay (P2P) financial accounts and procurement processes.
- Lead a team handling: Purchase orders; Contracts, supply agreements, and subcontracts; Docket receipting; Invoicing and Subcontract administration.
- Manage head contract change management registers, including variations and extensions or time (EOT).
- Laision with regional commercial SMEs for contract support and guidance.
- Provide regular reports to the Project Manager on the financial, contractual and administrative status of the project.
- Monitor and update detailed working budgets, authoring cost transfers between cost centres.
- Assist in the preparation of financial and monthly project reports.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Contractor experience essential
- Construction or similar project contract delivery experience required.
- Tertiary Accounting Degree, or 10+ years relevant project commercial experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team.
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of people and situations.
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
