Job Summary:

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (GFT) / Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon. The successful candidate will:
- Provide specialized patient care in the treatment of problems of the hand, wrist and forearm as well as general orthopaedic surgery, to include surgical interventions, non-surgical interventions, diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist pain, cuts on the fingers and hands, and creating fingers from toes and other joints.
- Participate in mentoring/doctoring activities and problem-based learning sessions with the medical school.
- Teach medical students, nurses, physician assistants, and residents, including supporting, providing, and attending lectures and conferences.
- Be responsible for conducting research in his/her area of expertise.
- Perform other job related duties as business needs warrant, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description.
