The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at Boise State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with an anticipated start in Fall 2025. We welcome outstanding applicants from all areas of mechanical and biomedical engineering, focusing on candidates whose research aligns with one or more of our interdisciplinary PhD programs in Engineering, Computing, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Collectively, these programs are designed to be flexible enough to accommodate the broad spectrum of research interests across mechanical engineering and related fields.
The successful candidate is expected to maintain an externally funded research program, foster a collaborative learning environment using evidence-based practices, communicate effectively with colleagues and students, and collaborate with faculty and industry/community partners on interdisciplinary research initiatives. You will also contribute to the department’s growth through teaching, mentoring students, and participating in departmental, college, and/or university committees. Our department is committed to balancing the research and teaching commitments of junior faculty so that our new colleague can establish a thriving research program.
