Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position is responsible for:
• Execution of all digital marketing efforts (both for clients and brand).
• Brand development initiatives/campaigns on a local and national level.
• Expansion into new media and business partnerships.
• Leveraging campus and community partners to strengthen brand and outfacing image.
• Management of event-day functions such as all VIP activity, Meet and Greets, etc.
• Event management/oversight of Arena operations for select athletic/community events.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

Event Marketing and Brand Development:
• Manages all digital marketing campaigns (including pixels, retargeting, and banners), conducts market research, and analyzes customer data to inform marketing strategies.
• Builds and maintains partnerships with local entities, content creators, street teams, and media outlets to promote events and the brand.
• Implements marketing campaigns and special projects, oversees event photography and its utilization, fosters campus partnerships, supervises marketing interns, manages grassroots marketing efforts, and collaborates with the Box Office on group sales initiatives.

New Media Management:
• Develops and implements new media strategies and technologies, including digital marketing, retargeting, pixel placement, and social media campaigns, to expand reach and engagement for the venue and clients.
• Oversees all web content and development (internal and contracted), ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and manages all social media content, strategy, and publishing.
• Leverages ticketing platform tools to reach new markets, build customer relationships, and utilize venue databases for targeted communication. Creates, executes, and analyzes email marketing campaigns for effectiveness.

Creative Design Management:
• Creates design concepts and marketing assets for national advertising, tour marketing, internal promotions, and venue signage (both printed and digital). Ensures all materials meet marketing objectives, varying brand guidelines, and project timelines.
• Develops and manages creative marketing initiatives that appeal to various stakeholders.
• Identifies and implements design-focused projects to improve the guest experience, including conceptualization, project management, cost control, and adherence to industry best practices.

Event Management:
• All administrative staff have event day responsibilities across commercial, athletic, and community events, with specific responsibilities varying by event type.
• Manages all VIP, Meet & Greet, Hospitality, and Artist Management functions for commercial events, coordinating internal and external departments, staffing on-site activations, and overseeing all VIP event logistics.
• Advances, negotiates, tracks, and settles applicable event expenses, manages fund deposits, supervises meet & greets, and cultivates positive relationships with touring staff, Arena security, and guests.

Event Manager:
• Manages select athletic, campus, and community events, overseeing front-of-house staff, facility, and signage readiness, incident reporting, and serving as a facility representative.
• Assists with merchandise management, including staffing, training, supervision, sales reconciliation, and settlement with shows.
• Provides event operational support at other venues as needed, such as the Idaho Botanical Garden.
• Manages select events, including staffing, facility preparation, incident reporting, and serving as the venue representative.
• Supports merchandise operations, encompassing staffing, training, sales reconciliation, and settlements.
• Continues professional development by serving on departmental and university committees as appropriate, and involvement in professional organizations, workshops, and conferences.

Provides operational assistance at various venues as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Must possess a strong understanding of marketing principles, including target market identification and the development of creative marketing concepts and campaigns for local and national advertising.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, are crucial to effectively managing budgets, media and marketing plans, staffing, and event day operations.
• Must be a creative thinker capable of developing marketing initiatives that appeal to all stakeholders, building brand awareness for ExtraMile Arena's diverse events, and fostering fan loyalty.
• Possess graphic design skills (including layout, typography, and software proficiency) and working experience with Adobe Design Studio, Canva, or other design software to ensure timely, brand-compliant, and high-quality print and digital content creation, keeping pace with project volume and design trends.
• Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects of varying scope, from national ad campaigns to website redesigns and partner acquisition, ensuring timely completion alongside daily responsibilities.
• Experience managing multiple subordinates to effectively lead and develop the marketing team, including student interns, to their full potential.
• Budget oversight experience, including managing commercial event marketing settlements and the department budget, and possess exemplary customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders, both internally and externally, including website and social media management.
• Working knowledge of web design concepts, HTML, CSS, and related technologies, along with strong website layout, functionality, and troubleshooting skills to maintain the venue's dynamic and ever-changing website content.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2 years experience or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in marketing, music business, or graphic design and 2 years experience or equivalent, graphic design portfolio will be reviewed if available.

Salary and Benefits:
