Job Summary/Basic Function:

The School of Nursing (SON) Marketing & Recruitment Specialist oversees daily marketing activities and recruitment for the School of Nursing Marketing team, collaborating with graphic design and content writer personnel. 

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training. Typically hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Essential Functions:

50% of the time the Marketing and Recruitment Specialist must:

Recruitment (50%)

  • Travels and represents Boise State and SON at local, regional, and national recruitment events.
  • Coordinates recruitment efforts for School of Nursing programs, including the pre-licensure nursing program, RN-to-BS completion track, BS-to-DNP program, and future program offerings.
  • Develops and coordinates recruitment campaigns, events, and email recruitment campaigns.
  • Develops and implements strategies to increase leads and application numbers.
  • Cultivates, tracks, and forwards event leads to appropriate programs.
  • Ensures recruitment information is current and accurate.
  • Identifies new recruitment opportunities and partnerships (e-campus, admissions, and external organizations).
  • Builds and maintains relationships with faculty, staff, health systems, community colleges, and partner organizations.
  • Orders and maintains recruitment materials and coordinates event logistics and shipping.
  • Attends program meetings and provides recruitment updates.
  • Collects and analyzes recruitment data, produces annual reports, and participates in strategic planning.

50% of the time the Marketing and Recruitment Specialist must:

Marketing Operations (50%)

  • Assists SON leadership through promotion and development of business operations related to marketing and recruitment programs.
  • Develops strategic marketing plans for academic programs based on budget, mission, and vision of the school.
  • Manages advertising campaigns to support school recruitment and engagement.
  • Tracks annual recruitment and marketing budget, monitors expenditures and budget adherence, and submits financial reports.
  • Partners with the marketing team to develop a strong SON brand identity aligned with University standards.
  • Nurtures internal relationships to facilitate marketing campaigns and develop agency model standards and processes with University partners.
  • Collaborates with marketing team and program coordinators to develop digital and print recruitment materials and communication strategies.
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials, including print, digital, and video.
  • Develops recruitment-focused content and presentations reflecting the SON and University brand.
  • Assists in the development and distribution of SON communications via Marketing Cloud to internal and external audiences.
  • Manages social media accounts to promote SON programs.
  • Participates in committees and attends program meetings to remain informed on curriculum, programs, and initiatives.
  • Maintains knowledge of nursing education trends, programs, and competitive landscape.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Marketing plan execution knowledge.
  • Finance and ROI knowledge.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Experience using social media in a professional/business capacity.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads and paid social media campaigns.
